A Habitat Conservation Plan (HCP) has been prepared by the Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) in support of an application to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) for incidental take coverage of the federally threatened desert tortoise and the Mohave ground squirrel. Incidental take could occur in association with groundwater remediation activities conducted by PG&E at and near the Hinkley Compressor Station. The Hinkley HCP Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) evaluates the environmental impacts that have the potential to occur as a result of issuing the permit and implementing the HCP.
